Life Members' Pentathlon
In addition to our usual weekly competitions, Algester Little Athletics usually holds an annual 'Life Members Pentathlon' each season. The event is open to current Algester Little Athletics members only, and the date is advised at the beginning of the season (it is usually held in November). The Life Member’s Pentathlon is held at Col Bennett Park.
Pentathlon is a multi-event competition. Practically, it is not too different to our usually weekly competitions, and each age group will compete in 5 events. Athletes must compete in all five events of the pentathlon competition – Hurdles, Sprint, Distance, Long or High Jump, Discus or Shotput – for their age group. Points are allocated according to the level of performance achieved in each of the five events, for each age group, boys and girls.

A medal will be awarded to the male and female winner in each age group with the most points, which will be announced during our next weekly competition day, after the Pentathlon. Runners-up and other participants will each receive a certificate. The overall Pentathlon Champion, being the athlete who scores the highest points tally on the day, will be announced at our trophy day.
